REFLECTIONS
COLLECTION 02-2017

OUR FIRST UNISEX COLLECTION, 'REFLECTIONS'  IS A STUDY OF THE SAME CLOTHES IN DIFFERENT WORLDS.

SHHORN CONTINUES TO ADVANCE IN-HOUSE FABRIC DEVELOPMENT AND CRAFTSMANSHIP.

THIS COLLECTION MARKED OUR FIRST IN-HOUSE HAND WOVEN FABRIC ON OUR FLOOR LOOM.  WE USED A WOOL YARN CALLED 'UTZON WHITE', SPUN YEARS AGO TO BE USED FOR A TAPESTRY IN THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE, TO PROCURE A LIGHT WEIGHT BLAZER-STYLE SUMMER COAT. A BLACK COTTON YARN FOM JAPAN IS USED TO CREATE A RELAXED HIGH-WAIST PLEATED PANT. JAPANESE YARNS ARE MARRIED WITH SILK TO PRODUCE A HAND WOVEN DUSTY LAVENDER COLOURED SCARF.

EACH FABRIC REVEALS A LANDSCAPE, PATHWAYS TRACED BY THE RISE AND FALL OF THE WEFT THROUGH THE WARP. NO PART OF THE FABRIC UNTOUCHED BY OUR HANDS. THIS CONCISE COLLECTION REVEALS THE SOFTNESS OF A MAN AND THE STRENGTH OF A WOMAN.
